Reno luxury home market….

2

May

Here are some recent thoughts on the market for luxury homes in Montreux, Arrowcreek, Caughlin Ranch, Somersett and luxury homes for sale.  This was submitted by Tiffini Anderson from CTX Mortgage in Reno Nevada, I like her style of writing so I thought it would be a timely post:

I have been originating Reno mortgage financing for over eighteen years as a Reno mortgage observer; It is always interesting when the Federal Reserve meets to decide if they will raise, lower, or leave alone the interest rates. But the two day meeting that started today must be among the top three most important meetings in my career.I am sitting on the edge of my chair at or Reno CTX Mortgage location to see what they are going to do. Will they lower rates to please the markets? The markets are pressuring the Feds to lower their interest rate another .250%. What would be the consequences? If the Feds do not lower rates, will the market rebel and throw another of their volatile tantrums? What is the point, really, in lower rates? As far as we poor Reno real estate watchers go, they lower and lower rates, and it so far hasn’t helped the Reno home buyer. Have you seen the jumbo interest rates lately the Reno luxury home market has somewhat been affected? Yikes! The banks are making more money, sure. And they are certainly recuperating the money they are loosing in short sales and foreclosures. That sounds great for bankers. What about inflation? The PPI is screaming run away inflation. The red flag is waving and waving. “Hello, pay attention to me, inflation coming.” But the Feds seem trapped. If they started raising rates, as they historically would be, the stock market could reel. They are walking on a tight rope. Not only did the Feds lend investment bankers money in the historic moment of the Bear Sterns Bailout, but now, word on the street is that they are considering taking on the Commercial Banker’s reserve deposits and paying them interest. Wow, this is some serious economic history in the making. Stay tuned.
