Although most of the attention was given to Michelle Wie, who shot a 73 at the Legends Reno-Tahoe Open at the Montreux Golf & Country Club, Jeff Overton, a third year PGA tour player playing in the opening group of the day, took the lead with a round of seven under par. Many folks had parties at their Reno Nv. Montreux luxury homes as the golfers played in front of them. The Montreux PGA Tournament Golfers with the afternoon tee times averaged more than a stoke over the players who had early tee times. This should level off, as the leaders will be playing the later tee times today, and the players back in the pack will be teeing off early. Staying within the fairways seemed to be the key to good scores yesterday, as the leader managed to stay in the fairway on the great majority of the holes, and hitting the greens within regulation on all but one hole. The tee times seem to have quite an influence on scoring and the next three days will determine who can play well in the afternoon to be the leader at the end of the Montreux PGA tournament. Â
