The mood was a little less festive and media hyped today at the Montreux Reno Nv. P.G.A. Tour as the Hanna Montana of Golf was benched.  The signs on the Montreux Custom Homes went from we love you Michelle Wie to We will miss you Michelle Wie.

I guess the biggest difference between the two (Hanna Montana and Michelle Wie) is that Hanna Montana wears retro Madonna Shining Star era wrist/armbands and Michelle Wie sports sponsors over-sized watch for bling.  Both howeverhttp://www.pgatour.com/r/leaderboard/index.html seem to have been spoon fed opportunities or more like a goose fattening for foi gras opportunities. 

I think she (Michelle Wie) is the only teenager in the world who doesn’t rely on her phone for the time as her sponsored watch company bands/brands her with a watch much like the Nevada Department of Wildlife bands a Nevada Chucker ( a sport bird with a cult following, see Chucker Chucks grave below).  

 

I am still waiting for my reporter in the field who was supposed to call in the results. Unfortunately, he got benched somewhat himself at a Montreux PGA sponsors tent and when I got a hold of him he said he had a sponsors trophy girl on his arms and sounded pretty buzzed as every other word was a cuss word.  He had mentioned that they were going to poach a Montreux Custom Home hot tub or skinny dip the Montreux Country Club House Pool.  I told him to call immediately if he heads for the pool as I will have my video ready for the first ever Montreux U-Tube skinny dip/arrest tape.  My buzz detector instantly sensed mild alcohol poisoning had taken over and I wasn’t going to get much results from him. 

This will be the last time I give him my pass to a sponsors tent, I just hope he doesn’t mention my name.  I had instructed him if anyone asks where he got the pass to say “from Scott McCarron (home town hero) and that would stop any further questions and give him a sense of belonging somehow.

I will check a few sites now and post below, the funny thing is that the PGAs site is so old school Web 1.0 that it is a pimped out ad machine with a bunch of video ads and garbage on it, I will wade into the results page after being forced to look at the ads.  Hey wait a second, besides the sport itself and the players, isn’t that what golf is all about; sponsors and ads?  As far as I know, except for a few blogs, there are not a lot of Golf/Web 2.0 open access sites around.
